The Phillies have signed 29 year old RHP Josh Winder to a two year minor league contract. He was the 7th round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 2018 draft from VMI. Winder pitched for the Twins organization thru the 2024 season, he then signed a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on 1/23/25 but did not pitch for them as he underwent Tommy John surgery, the Diamondbacks released him on 3/28/25. In last night’s Reading game shortstop Bryan Rincon hit his 20th home run of the season. It brings his season totals to 23 doubles, 20 home runs and 25 stolen bases. Having 20 or more tallies in all three categories is a feat that according to my research that only eleven minor leaguers have done this season. Congrats to RHP George Klassen (2023 6th round draft choice) for an outstanding effort on 8/18 for the Los Angeles Angels against the Houston Astros - he went seven scoreless innings allowing just one hit with three walks and seven strikeouts, post game remarks were that he was dominant.
