Congrats to RHP George Klassen (2023 6th round draft choice) for an outstanding effort on 8/18 for the Los Angeles Angels against the Houston Astros - he went seven scoreless innings allowing just one hit with three walks and seven strikeouts, post game remarks were that he was dominant. Since being recalled to the major leagues on 8/7 he’s posted a 1.59 ERA in three starts (17 IP) winning two games with 15 K’s and 8 walks. He’s featured a four seam fastball averaging 97 mph

Hitting it hard in Clearwater : On 8/14/26 Clearwater outfielder Caden Bogenpohl hit a screaming home run in Fort Myers measured at a 117 mph exit velocity and later hit two singles in the game at 107 mph and 116 mph. Thirty-eight year old RHP Casey Lawrence has been signed by the Phillies to a minor league contract and will eventually be assigned to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs as a starting pitcher. Lawrence was released by the Seattle Mariners on 8/8/26 - he had been pitching for their triple A affiliate Tacoma where he made 26 starts (131.2 IP) posting a 4.37 ERA with 79 K’s and 19 walks.
