Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
1/22/25 action : the Senadores de San Juan defeated the Indios de Mayaguez 7-5 in game five of the best of nine championship series to post their first win. Former Phillies minor league RHP Julian Garcia pitched six innings (3 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 2 K’s) for San Juan to earn the mound victory. Former Phillies minor league outfielders Cornelius Randolph (two doubles), Jan Hernandez (single & double) and Jadiel Sanchez (two singles) each had two hits for San Juan.
Dominican Winter League :
1/22/25 action : the Leones del Escogido shut out the Tigres del Licey 6-0 to take a 2-1 series lead in the league championship series. Former Phillies infielder Jean Segura was 1 for 4 (double) for the Leones. Johan Rojas went 0 for 3 for the Tigres.
Mexican Pacific League :
1/22/25 action : the Charros de Jalisco evened the championship series at one win apiece with a 2-1 fourteen inning victory over the Tomateros de Culiacán in game two. Former Phillies minor league first baseman Joey Meneses was 1 for 6 (double) for Culiacan.
Venezuela Winter League :
1/22/25 action : the Cardenales de Lara defeated the Bravos de Margarita 9-2 in game three of the league championship series to take a 2-1 lead. Former Phillies minor league RHP Max Castillo pitched five innings (1 R, 6 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s) for the Cardenalas to earn the win.
Australian Winter League :
1/22/25 action : no games scheduled - the playoffs begin on 1/24/25.
Colombia Winter League :
The season is complete - the Caimanes de Barranquilla were crowned champions.
Nicaragua Winter League :
The season is complete - the Leones de Leon were crowned champions.
Panama Winter League :
The season is complete - the Águilas Metropolitanas were crowned champions.
