In anticipation of the new baseball season I asked a few of the Phillies minor league players “What is it that you are most looking forward to in regard to returning to Clearwater for training camp?” Following are the 59 responses I received :

“I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates from last year and getting to play baseball after a long offseason.” - OF Jordan Viars
“The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is getting back into the routine of training at the complex and being around the coaches and staff and using all of the resources.” - RHP Ethan Chenault
‘I’m fired up to see the boys, I’m ready to get back to work!” - RHP Gunner Mayer
“I am looking forward to seeing the guys, staff members, and meet the people I haven’t got to connect with yet. Coming from Kansas getting out of the cold weather doesn’t hurt either!” - RHP Tegan Cain - Tegan is working back from TJ surgery.
“I think the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is the pre-spring training grind with my teammates and competing once we start rolling into bullpens and live. There’s nothing better than preseason because it really confirms the saying of “iron sharpens iron”” - RHP Ryan Dromboski

“The thing I’m looking forward to the most is just the opportunity to play again and the chance to continue to get better. I feel like the offseason, although you are lifting, conditioning, and hitting, gets old pretty fast as the days could be done within the matter of a few hours. The best part of baseball is just being able to play and I think that’s what I’m looking forward to the most.” - 1B/3B Raider Tello
“Baseball is a team game, I love going back to spring training and seeing the guys I haven’t seen since the end of the season or guys who were at a different levels that I hadn’t seen since last spring training. It’s always good to reconnect with everyone. Also just looking forward to getting to work, I’m going to be the most ready I’ve ever been and I want to prove it.” - C Ryan Leitch
“The heat, being from PA it’s gonna be warmer for sure. Obviously the game itself, we are getting back into the swing of things where we are full go. There’s nothing better than what we get to do, it’s a child’s game played by men for a living -there’s not much better!
