Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.
Dominican Winter League :
1/5/25 action : Johan Rojas (CF) went 1 for 3 with a single, two walks and a stolen base for the Tigres del Licey (3-1) in a 7-0 win over the Aguilas Cibaeñas (1-3). Former Phillie Jorge Alfaro went 2 for 4 (HR & double) with two runs and two RBIs and two former Phillies hurlers pitched. RHP Adonis Medina pitched two scoreless innings (1 H, 1 BB) and RHP Ulises Joaquin pitched a scoreless frame (1 H, 2 K’s) for the Tigres in the round robin playoff game.
Mexican Pacific League :
1/5/25 action : former Phillies minor league RHP Ofreidy Gomez pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s) for the Cañeros de Los Mochis in a 4-1 playoff game loss to the Algodoneros de Guasave. Former Phillies minor league first baseman Aldrem Corredor was 2 for 3 (single,HR) with two RBIs for the Algodoneros. Their best of seven series is tied at two wins apiece. Former Phillies minor league LHP JP Woodward pitched 1.2 scoreless innings (1 H, 2 BB, 1 K) to close out a 3-2 win for Venados de Mazatlán against the Tomateros de Culiacán and stave off series elimination, the Tomateros lead the series 3-1. Former Phillies minor league RHP Fernando Lozano pitched six innings (2 R, 7 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s) for the Águilas de Mexicali in a 3-1 loss to the Charros de Jalisco. The Charros lead the series 3-1.
Venezuela Winter League :
1/5/25 action : former Phillies Simon Muzziotti (CF) and Ali Castillo (DH) each went 2 for 4 (singles) for the Aguilas del Zulia (3-3) in a 3-1 round robin playoff game loss to the Bravos de Margarita (4-3).
Panama Winter League :
1/5/25 action : Los Atlánticos de Bocas del Toro y Colón defeated Águilas Metropolitanas 4-0 in the first game of the championship series. The series is a best of five format.
Nicaragua Winter League :
1/5/25 action : Former Phillies minor league infielder Raul Rivas was 2 for 7 (singles) with a walk for the Indios del Boer (6-6) in a round robin double header sweep against the Leones de Leon (9-3).
Colombia Winter League :
1/5/25 action : Felix Reyes (3B) was 0 for 3 with an walk for the Leones de Barranquilla (1-2) in a 3-2 round robin playoff win against the Tigres de Cartegena (1-1).
Puerto Rico Winter League :
1/5/25 action : games were suspended or postponed due to rain.
Australia Baseball League :
