The Arizona Fall League :
The Phillies contingent is playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs.
Infielder Otto Kemp was 2 for 4 in last night’s game with a run scored and two RBIs - the game before that he hit two home runs and posted four RBIs. He’s hitting .294 (5 for 17) thus far. Catcher Jordan Dissin is 3 for 11 (.273).
The Premiere 12 World Baseball Tournament :
Outfielder Justin Crawford will play for Team USA in the 12 team world tournament. The opening round will begin on November 9 in Mexico and on November 13 in Japan and Taiwan. “The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, which will be played at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, where the medal games will also be played.” - WBSC. This is the third iteration of the tournament - the first was in 2015 followed by the second in 2019 - Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm played for Team USA in the 2019 tournament.
The Dominican Winter League :
The league began play last night - October 16th.
Shortstop Starlyn Caba was on the pre-season roster of Tigres del Licey and participated in practices with the club. Caba is just eighteen years old but is already a standout defender. Outfielder Raylin Heredia is playing for Gigantes del Cibao.
Former Phillies on rosters : outfielder Emilio Bonifacio and RHP Adonis Medina are playing for Tigres del Licey. Second baseman Jean Segura, RHP Robinson Martinez and RHP Trevor Kelley are playing for Leones del Escogido. Infielders Yairo Munoz and Jonathan Villar along with RHP Tyler Viza are playing for Aguilas Cibaeñas. Catcher Deivy Grullon and outfielder Jorge Bonifacio are playing for Gigantes del Cibao. RHP Neftali Feliz is pitching for Estrellas Orientales.
The Venezuela Winter League :
The league has begun play.
Current Phillies Catcher Andrick Nava is on the Aguilas del Zulia roster. RHP Saul Teran in pitching for Caribes de Anzoategui.
Former Phillies RHP Carlos Betancourt, utility player Ali Castillo and catcher Jose Godoy are playing for Aguilas del Zulia are on the Aguilas del Zulia roster as is outfielder Simon Muzziotti. Catcher Wilson Ramos is playing for Bravos de Margarita. RHP Geoff Broussard and RHP Max Castillo are playing for Cardenales de Lara. Utility player Willians Astudillo, SS Kevin Vicuña and LHP Rafael Marcano are playing for Caribes de Anzoategui. First baseman Aldrem Corredor, catcher Gabriel Lino and outfielders Carlos Tocci and Danny Ortiz are on the Leones del Caracas roster. LHP Elvis Araujo and 1B Wilson Garcia along with outfielder Yhoswar Garcia, second baseman Cesar Hernandez and RHP Jonathan Petit are playing for Tiburones de La Guaira.
The Mexican Winter League :
The league began play on 10/11/24.
Former Phillies minor league RHP Efrain Contreras and INF Esteban Quiroz are on the Tomateros de Culiacan roster. LHP JP Woodward is on the Venados de Mazatlan roster. RHP’s Fernando Salas and Robert Stock are on the Naranjeros de Hermosillo roster. Outfielder Dustin Peterson is playing for Sultanes de Monterrey. Infielder Jonathan Arauz is on the Yaquis de Obregon roster. Catcher Sebastian Valle is playing for Charros de Jalisco. Free agent RHP Alan Rangel is on the roster of Naranjeros de Hermosillo.
The Puerto Rico Winter League : opens on 11/3/24
The Australian Baseball League :
Begins play on 11/15/24
The Phillies will have seven players on the two time defending champions Adelaide Giants roster including infielder Nickau Pouaka-Grego, RHP Mitch Nuenborn, RHP Estibenzon Jimenez, INF Trent Farquhar, LHP Matt Osterberg and catchers Lou Albrecht and Luis Caicuto. Free agent LHP Lachlan Wells is also on the roster, he pitched for Reading last season. Former Phillies player Curtis Mead, Rixon Wingrove and Nick Ward are all slated to return to Adelaide for the upcoming season.
At the Complexes :
There will be a High Performance Camps beginning on 10/21/24 at Carpenter Complex in Clearwater.
