Australian Baseball League :
The Phillies contingent plays for the Adelaide Giants.
11/29/24 action : doubleheader
Perth 9 (5-5) Adelaide 3 (5-5)
Former Phillies minor leaguer Nick Ward went 2 for 4 (single and double) with a run scored. Second baseman Nikau Pouaka-Grego was 1 for 3 with a single.
Perth 5 (6-5) Adelaide 2 (5-6)
Former Phillies minor leaguer Rixon Wingrove went 2 for 4 (single & HR). RHP Estibenzon Jimenez pitched two innings (3 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 39 pitches - 25 strikes).
11/28/24 action : Adelaide 4 (5-4) Perth 3 (4-5)
Trent Farquhar (3B) went 2 for 4 (singles) with an RBI and walk out of the leadoff spot in the order. Catcher Luis Caicuto was 2 for 3 (single & double) with a walk and run scored. Former Phillies minor leaguer Nick Ward (2B) went 1 for 4 (single) with two runs scored. Free agent LHP Lachlan Wells pitched five innings (2 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 11 K’s - 96 pitches - 61 strikes), he pitched for Reading last summer.
Dominican Winter League :
11/29/24 action : Center fielder Johan Rojas went 3 for 4 (single,double,HR) with two runs scored and an RBI in a 7-2 victory for Gigantes del Cibao over Leones del Escogido.
11/28/24 action : former Phillies minor league infielder Jonathan Villar went 3 for 4 (singles) with a run scored for Aguilas Cibaeñas in a 9-3 win over Leones del Escogido.
Mexican Winter League :
11/29/24 action : Former Phillies minor league LHP JP Woodward continues to shine for Venados de Mazatlán - he threw another scoreless frame in relief in a 8-4 win against Yaquis de Obregón. He’s now appeared in 24 games (22.1 IP) and has a 3.22 ERA and has not allowed a run in his last nine appearances (9 IP) posting 13 K’s against just one walk and allowing only three hits (none in his last six games). 🔥
Former Phillies minor league infielder Esteban “Pony” Quiroz is leading the league in OBP (.471 in 154 PA’s) playing for Tomateros de Culiacan. Quiroz played for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2023 and 2024, the 32 year old veteran was released on 7/14/24 - good clubhouse presence - well liked by teammates.
Venezuela Winter League :
11/29/24 action :
Former Phillies minor league catcher Willians Astudillo went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for Caribes de Anzoategui in a 10-5 win over Navegantes del Magallanes, he is hitting .317 for the season.
Former Phillies RHP Francisco Morales threw a scoreless inning in relief for Aguilas del Zulia in a 10-9 win against the Bravos de Margarita. Former Phillies second baseman Cesar Hernandez had two hits including a home run for Tiburones de La Guaira in a 6-3 loss to Tigres de Aragua. Former Phillies RHP Mauricio Llovera pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief in the game for Tiburones de La Guaira.
11/28/24 action : former Phillies minor league outfielder Herlis Rodriquez went 2 for 5 (double & HR) with two runs scored and an RBI for Caribes de Anzoategui in a 7-3 loss to Navegantes del Magallanes. Former Phillies shortstop Freddy Galvis hit a home run for Aguilas del Zulia in a 8-4 win over Bravos de Margarita. Former Phillies second baseman Cesar Hernandez homered for Tiburones de La Guaira in a 11-3 loss to Leones del Caracas.
