2/13/25 : Today at the Complex

Writer's picture: Steve PotterSteve Potter

Major league pitchers and catchers took to the field for day two of big league camp.  Pitcher’s fielding practice, side bullpens on the seven mounds and BP for the catchers on Roberts Field.

The standout in BP was Paul McIntosh. The 27 year old acquired from the Marlins in the Luzardo trade annihilated pitches in his session, by my count about ten or so over the left field fences and none of them cheap ones - they were all smoked high and long - I’m talking over the scoreboard into “Alligator Creek” beyond the Ream Wilson trail. Some have written about concerns regarding right handed outfield depth at AAA Lehigh Valley and while Mr. McIntosh is primarily a catcher he started 34 games in AA for Pensacola in the Marlins system last season.  Everything he hit today was hard - a really good BP round 👀.  And yes it was just BP but when ya hit them that far, that hard and that consistently it is impressive - just sayin.

Minor League Pre Mini- Camp :

Players who stayed in town rather than venture home from the just completed High Performance  Camp will do daily workouts till they are joined by the other participants in Minor League Mini Camp on Monday.  Today was throwing, fielding and indoor BP work.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
