Carson DeMartini had a day at the plate - hit a home run and squared up at least three other pitches for base hits, he’s had a very impressive mini-camp - can really swing the bat! There were multiple high velocity hurlers today - Luis Avila threw the ball really well - he’s got upper nineties heat capabilities but also possesses a put away slider which he used to record a strikeout against the last batter he faced, this young man has back end of the pen stuff. Lefty Camron Hill impressed with how crisp his pitches were - tall and lanky frame with a four pitch mix - very solid outing.

Enmanuel Mejia has a big arm, fastball is upper nineties which he uses as a primary - he’s a AAA level guy who might just help the big club at some point this year. What impressed me most today in his outing is how Eduardo Tait did in two plate appearances, the 18 year old hitter lined a really good slider down the right field line after seeing the heat - he stayed on it and showed a hitter’s maturity well beyond his age - in his second PA against Enmanuel he worked a walk, did not chase the high heat. Carson DeMartini also lined a line drive to the opposite side against Emmanuel - really good day for him indeed!  That’s not to say that Enmanuel didn’t throw well because he did - those two fellas just beat really good deliveries.  Devin Saltiban swung the bat really well also, had a couple hard line shots plus he got hit twice with stray deliveries, that part was painful but he showed no signs of injury. I thought that Kelly Dugan also swung the bat well today - had a couple knocks in live BP.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
