Notes :
RH Seth Nightingale ( 23 year old from Finksburg, MD who was signed as an un-drafted free agent 2/16/23 from the University of Mount Olive ) has an interesting and different delivery - does a bit of a dance step to his left before re-establishing contact to the pitching rubber and then fires. First time I’ve seen him in a live bullpen session, ball has plenty of life - mid nineties on the fast ball I believe. He’s long and lean at 6’5” and has a high leg lift before delivering. Impressed in his session.
RH Jonh Henriquez ( signed as an international free agent - Dominican Republic ( 6/7/22 ) showed the fastball form I remember from seeing him in Fall Instructs, he’s capable of upper nineties velocity and it’s a late hop that explodes at the plate. Has an easy motion, delivery is smooth, not forced. He continues to work on his secondary offerings both in command and control along with look and spin but he’s certainly got the juice and movement on the express to make him viable.
LH Braeden Fausnaught ( singed 8/1/22 as un-drafted free agent from West Chester University ) had a good session. Swing and miss action on his change up along with higher velocity than we saw this past summer with the fastball, still has the natural lefty tail as well. Like many players in the organization Braeden has benefited from the weight training program the Phillies incorporate, he looks to have added strength.
I had to leave before the simulated game to go pick up my son and daughter in law at the airport. They will be visiting with us this week.
Till tomorrow, Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
Top to Bottom - Braeden Fausnaught, Jonh Henriquez & Seth Nightingale
