Grapefruit League Game Nineteen  - Yankees 6 Phillies 5 (Tampa)


Scoring Summary :


Ben Rice hit a two run home run for the Yankees in the first inning.


Garrett Stubbs was hit by a pitch in the second inning, he advanced to third on a single by Christian Arroyo and scored on a sacrifice fly by Cal Stevenson.


Christian Arroyo singled in the seventh inning and scored on a home run by Cal Stevenson.


JC Escarra hit a solo home run for the Yankees in the bottom of the seventh.


Max Kepler singled to lead off the 8th inning, Edmundo Sosa was hit by a pitch, Kody Clemens singled to load the bases. Garrett Stubbs singled to right field, the right fielder misplayed the ground ball, two runs scored.


TJ Rumfield (a former Phillies minor leaguer) hit a two run home run for the Yankees in the bottom of the ninth. The Yankees won the game on a walk, stolen base and with two outs a hard shot down the first base line that first baseman Carson Taylor stopped on a dive and would have recorded the third out but pitcher Guillo Zuniga failed to cover first base, the runner from second circled third and scored the game winner.


At the Plate : 5 R, 7 H, 5  BB, 12 K’s


Christian Arroyo had two hits (singles). Max Kepler had two hits (single & double). Cal Stevenson hit a two run home run and had three RBIs in the game.

RH John McMillon - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 23 pitches - 12 strikes

RH Guillo Zuniga - 2/3 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 21 pitches - 8 strikes
