Prior to that he smoked two hits and also hit a line drive to right center field that the Yankees center fielder made a diving catch on. For the week he’s posted a .538 average (7 for 13) with a double and two home runs. The young man has big time power, he’s squared the baseball up consistently the last five days.
CF Emaarion Boyd went 2 for 3 with a double and stolen base, the 19 year old speedster from Batesville, Mississippi turned on an inside pitch and sent a hard ground ball down the left field line for his two bagger, he would have easily gotten to third had there not been a runner ahead of him. 💨 Catcher Anthony Quirion tripled in two AB’s and posted an RBI. Outfielder Cade Fergus, SS Bryan Rincon and 2B Erick Brito each singled.
Defensive Gems :
Center fielder Cade Fergus made a terrific running catch ranging far into the left center field gap to rob extra bases. In a later inning Emaarion Boyd delivered a web gem himself with a diving catch in center field. Along with Johan Rojas, Yhoswar Garcia, Simon Muzziotti Jared Carr and Justin Crawford the system has seven center fielders who can track down fly balls with extensive range - good stuff.
