The Phillies minor leaguers played four ST games against the Blue Jays (High A/Low A at Dunedin & AA/AAA at Clearwater Complex). Two major leaguers got work in - LHP Ranger Suarez pitched two scoreless innings in the AAA game and Kyle Schwarber went 2 for 5 (singles) with a sacrifice fly in the AAA contest. RH Orion Kerkering was also on the docket to pitch - I don’t have any reports on how he did at the moment - I will report detailed game notes later when they become available.

Aaron Nola was stellar in his final 2024 ST start combining with three other pitchers for a four hit shutout. The Phillies scored the game’s only runs in the first inning - Bryson Stott singled, stole second and scored on a single by Trea Turner. Alec Bohm doubled to score Turner.

Minor league releases :
1B Rixon Wingrove was released yesterday - a very popular teammate and fan favorite, he played at Jersey Shore and Reading last summer, the big fella from Australia has an outgoing personality, was a sad morning, wishing “Babe” Wingrove the best! Also released yesterday was RHP Cam Wynne who pitched at Jersey Shore and was the system winner last year of the community service award as part of the Phillies minor league community service “Step Up” program. Cam was another popular teammate and is a great person. Today RHP Brett Schulze was released - yet another popular teammate - he pitched last season for both Reading and Lehigh Valley.
Hopefully all get playing opportunities elsewhere.
