Matt Kroon walked in the first inning, went to third on a single by Jordan Luplow and scored on a sacrifice fly by Weston Wilson.
Dominic Smith hit a two run home run for Durham in the third inning. A double, walk and double scored two runs for them in the fourth inning, that same combination scored two for them in the fifth inning.
Scott Kingery homered in the bottom of the fifth inning.
