International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 7 (15-7) Columbus 3 (12-8)

Scoring Summary :


In the first inning Otto Kemp was hit by a pitch (that happens a lot), he went to second on a line drive single by Buddy Kennedy and scored on a ground ball single by Gabriel Rincones Jr.  Oscar Mercado walked and Garrett Stubbs reached on a catcher’s interference call to score a run.


In the second inning Otto Kemp was hit by a pitch (told ya it happens a lot), he scored from first base on a double by Buddy Kennedy.


Weston Wilson walked in the fourth, Otto Kemp doubled. Buddy Kennedy walked.  A sacrifice fly by Gabriel Rincones Jr. scored a run. Óscar Mercado singled to score another.


Garrett Stubbs and Rafael Lantigua singled in the seventh inning, Otto Kemp was hit by a pitch for the third time in the game, Buddy Kennedy walked to score a run.


Dom Nunez homered for Columbus in the ninth inning. A single, walk and double scored two runs.


At Bat : 7 R, 9 H, 9 BB, 10 K’s


Buddy Kennedy, Rafael Lantigua and Oscar Mercado each had two hits.  Kennedy, Mercado and Otto Kemp each doubled.  Mercado walked three times, Kennedy and Weston Wilson twice each. Otto Kemp was hit by a pitch four times, and scored three runs.

PIG PEN PALS: The bullpen has been dynamite for the ‘Pigs since allowing 10 runs in the final two frames to SWB on March 31. In April, the ‘Pigs have six relievers (Aoyagi, Cuas, Padilla, Schulfer, Zuñiga) who have not allowed an earned run in the month. Nine relievers have allowed three earned runs of fewer in the month. Scoring Summary :


Aidan Miller singled on a sharp ground ball to center field in the first inning, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a sharp ground ball single to center by Hendry Mendez.


Aidan Miller and Hendry Mendez singled in the third inning, Miller scored on a single by Keaton Anthony.  Elio Prado singled and Robert Moore walked to score a run.


A walk and three singles scored two runs for Portland in the fourth inning. A triple scored two more.


Luis Verdugo walked in the sixth inning, Jordan Dissin and Trent Farquhar singled to load the bases. Aidan Miller singled to score a run. Hendry Mendez singled to score another and a wild pitch scored one more. Elio Prado then singled to score the fourth run of the inning. Robert Moore walked to score another.


Two singles, a fielding error (shortstop Aidan Miller) and a double scored two runs for Portland in the eighth inning. Another double scored two more to tie the game. A wild pitch and singled scored Portland’s fifth run of the frame.

Aidan Miller had three hits (singles) as did Hendry Mendez (singles, two runs & two RBIs). Keaton Anthony, Jordan Dissin and Elio Prado each had two hits (singles). Luis Vedugo walked three times, Leandro Pineda and Robert Moore each walked twice - Moore had two RBIs.

He has a .444 on-base percentage over the on-base streak. The six-game hitting streak is currently tied as the fourth-longest on-base streak in the Eastern League. Pierce Bennett singled in the fifth inning, Bryan Rincon walked and Carson DeMartini singled to load the bases. Dylan Campbell hit a sacrifice fly to score a run.


Bryson Ware singled in the eighth inning, Zach Arnold doubled. Pierce Bennett hit a sacrifice fly to score a run. Bryan Rincon hit a sacrifice fly to score another.


Two doubles scored a run for Brooklyn in the ninth inning.


At Bat : 3 R, 9 H, 6 BB, 9 K’’s


Carson DeMartini had two hits (single & double).  Bryson Ware had two hits (singles). Zach Arnold doubled.  Bryan Rincon walked three times.

Aroon Escobar walked in the first inning, Eduardo Tait hit an absolute bomb over the stadium fence and into the alligator pond to score him!


Yasser Mercedes hit a two run home run for Fort Myers in the fourth inning. A couple batters later Jose Rodriguez hit a two run home run.


Two walks and a double scored two runs for Fort Myers in the sixth inning. Two more walks and a single scored two more runs.


Brady Day doubled in the seventh inning and scored on a double by Carter Mathison.

Carter Mathison and Brady Day each had two hits (single & double). Dante Nori doubled.  Eduardo Tait hit a two run home run.  Aroon Escobar walked three times.
