Christian McGowan went 3.2 innings - 0 R, 1 H, 4 BB, 4 K’s - 73 pitches - 38 strikes - battled command a bit - multiple pitches were close but missed, especially early, but then he would find it and put deliveries on the black to get out of jams - has a bulldog mentality, competes. Early in the game when a hitter seemed to be chirping on a few pitches Christian let him know about it. The young man has no fear and will battle to win. He showed a good biting slider today (swing & miss) and velocity is climbing - sat 92-94 mph today I believe and touched 96 - when the skipper came to get him in the 4th due to pitch count could tell he was pleading his case to stay in - really like the “want to” in this young man.
