I was on site to watch four pitchers throw live BP’s - here are my notes.

Live Bullpens :

Erubiel Armenta, Kevin Warunek, Alexis De La Cruz, Adilson Peralta

Notes on Live BP’s :

LH Erubiel Armenta is a reliever who could help at either double or high A - he’s working back from multiple surgeries on his elbow - today showed decent pop like I remembered before the injuries - had difficulty locating the change up in today’s session but that’s a feel pitch that will come with repeated efforts.

LH Kevin Warunek showed  3/4 arm slot - decent slider to last hitter he faced, swing and miss impact - he threw quality strikes down in the zone - free and easy motion - good pop and ball movement - hopefully he gets into game action soon.

RH Alexis De La Cruz has a short arm delivery - lots of zip, high velocity - very upright - not much follow thru coming from the legs - Arm slot is relatively consistent - saw a slurve and fastball today - he did a two inning up down - big fella, velocity certainly gets attention.

RH Adilson Peralta has an abbreviated over the top delivery - seems to come out of the hand similar to a catcher’s behind the ear release - unique for a pitcher - a lot of thrust - fall off towards first  motion - threw strikes - three K’s in an two inning up-down session - ball arrives on downward plane - good pop - slider with late break - straight change.

Hitters :

Cole Roberts hit a hump back single over second base. Victor Cardoza has a nice swing - he hit a liner to left field for a single.

Nikau Pouaka-Grego took a hanging curve from De La Cruz over the right field fence for a home run. Angel Mata has better bat to ball skills than folks know about, when he’s back to full game action I think he could be another in the catcher line to make waves this summer. It’s always fun to watch Alirio Ferrebus in action - he’s talkative on the field and it’s easy to see that he truly enjoys playing the game - strong skillset as well, he’s gonna have a good summer.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
