International League ( AAA ) -  Lehigh Valley 5 (26-27) Scranton Wilkes Barre 3 (27-27)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Elijah Dunham tripled to score a run for SWB in the second inning, he scored on a double by Billy McKinney.


Oswald Peraza homered for SWB in the third inning.


Jake Cave hit a three run home run in the third inning.


John Hicks hit a two run home run in the sixth inning.


On the Hill :


Jake Jewell opened and went the first two innings. Taylor Lehman pitched the third inning.  Luis Ortiz pitched two scoreless innings, two walks and a hit batter.  Jeremy Walker pitched one and a third scoreless, one hit.  Jacob Barnes pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.  Jace Vines finished with a scoreless ninth inning.


At the Bat :


John Hicks had three hits (two singles & HR), Simon Muzziotti had two hits as did Scott Kingery.  Esteban Quiroz doubled and Jake Cave homered.

Summary :


Oliver Dunn and Matt Kroon walked in the second inning, they both scored on a double to right center field by Nick Podkul (extending his on-base streak to 19 games).


Sebastian Espino hit a three run home run for New Hampshire in the bottom of the second inning.


Reading loaded the bases in the 4th inning on two walks and a hit batter.  Max McDowell hit a sac fly to score a run.  A hit batter reloaded the bases, Carlos De La Cruz then walked to score a run.


Matt Kroon doubled in the 5th inning and scored on a single by Ethan Wilson.


A walk and two singles scored two runs for New Hampshire in the 5th inning.


Matt Kroon was hit by a pitch to start the seventh, he advanced on a single by Nick Podkul and scored on a double by Ethan Wilson.   McCarthy Tatum reached on a hit by pitch.  A wild pitch scored Wilson.  Madison Stokes hit an infield single to score a run.


Orelvis Martinez homered for NH in the seventh inning.


Johan Rojas reached on an error in the 8th, went to third on an Oliver Dunn single and scored on a wild pitch. Matt Kroon singled to score Dunn.  Nick Podkul hit a two run home run.  Ethan Wilson went back to back.


On the Hill :


Tyler Phillips went five innings plus two batters, six runs, nine hits, three walks, six strikeouts.  Braden Zarbnisky pitched an inning.  Keylan Killgore pitched two frames, one run, two hits, no walks, two strikeouts.  Cristian Hernandez finished with a scoreless 9th inning.


Web Gem :


Center fielder Johan Rojas made a diving catch to end the first inning.


At the Bat :


Nick Podkul (single, double, HR ) had three hits and four RBIs.  Ethan Wilson (two doubles & HR plus walk and HBP ) also had three hits, he drove in three .  Matt Kroon had three hits including two doubles, he also walked twice and was hit by a pitch.

Summary :


Chase Estep homered for Brooklyn in the second inning.


Wilfredo Flores doubled in the third inning, Jared Carr walked.  Rafael Marchan hit a ground rule double to left field (bounced over the fence) to score Flores.


Chase Estep drove in a run for Brooklyn in the 4th with a single.  A double (Cesar Berbesi) and RBI single scored a 5th inning run for Brooklyn.


Brooklyn scored three in the seventh, two on a home run by Omar De Los Santos.


On the Hill :


Matt Osterberg went 4 2/3 innings, three runs, six hits, one walk, five strikeouts. Carlos Francisco and Sam Jacobsak each went one and two third innings, Matt Russell pitched a perfect inning, one strikeout.


At the Bat :


Rixon Wingrove had two hits as did Wilfredo Flores. Flores and Rafael Marchan each doubled.

Marcus Lee Sang hit .352 in May (31-88) with 24 walks in 27 games.  Lee Sang had a 1.048 OPS in May, second in the league to Jackson Holliday of Aberdeen (1.137). He is 5 for 9 in this series and 22 for 53 since May 16th.  With an OBP of .448, Lee Sang ranks third in the league. He is second in the league with 35 walks drawn (in 183 plate appearances). Last year, between the BlueClaws and Celarwater, he had 35 walks in 41 plate appearances. Summary :


Justin Crawford singled in the first inning and scored on a triple by Gabriel Rincones Jr.  Felix Reyes hit a sac fly to score Rincones Jr.


Ryan Leitch walked in the second and went to third on a Cade Fergus single, he scored when Ricardo Rosario (reached on a fielders choice) stole second and the Dunedin catcher sailed his throw into center field.


Sammy Hernandez homered for Dunedin in the 4th inning.


Bryan Rincon hit an inside the park home run in the seventh inning, the Blue Jays center fielder crashed into the wall attempting to make the catch and the ball caromed away allowing Rincon to circle the bases!


On the Hill :


Gabriel Cotto started and went five innings, one run, five hits, no walks, one strikeout.  Alex Rao threw two scoreless innings, no hits, one walk.  Jack Dallas pitched the last two innings, no runs, four hits, three strikeouts.

Third baseman Felix Reyes made a leaping catch on a line drive in the fourth inning.


At the Bat :


Chad Castillo doubled, Gabriel Rincones Jr had two hits (single & triple). Bryan Rincon homered.



Did Ya Know?


Justin Crawford was the first Thresher to finish perfect at the plate with multiple hits this season. He tied the Threshers season-high with four hits. Troy Schreffler and Yemal Flores each had two hits, both doubled. Flores had two RBIs.  Enrique Segura pitched two innings, one run, five hits.  Jose Pena Jr went three and one third innings, no runs, three hits, one walk, five strikeouts.  Josh Bortka retired all five batters he faced, one strikeout.  Guissepe Velasquez pitched the final two innings, one run on three hits.

Lehigh Valley : OF Dustin Peterson reinstated from the 7-Day Injured List, OF Cal Stevenson designated for assignment

3B Drew Ellis' contract has been selected by Philadelphia from Lehigh Valley
