International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 9 (27-33) Buffalo 3 (31-31)

Summary :


Steward Berroa homered for Buffalo in the first inning.


Scott Kingery singled in the bottom of the first, stole second, went to third on a throwing error and scored when Ruben Cardenas reached on an error.


Jim Haley hit a two run home run in the second inning.  Trevor Schwecke singled and Jordan Luplow walked.  Ruben Cardenas hit a three run home run.


Two singles, a ground out and two wild pitches scored two runs for Buffalo in the sixth inning.


Ruben Cardenas hit his second home run of the game in the seventh inning.


Jim Haley and Trevor Schwecke singled in the 8th, Scott Kingery and Ruben Cardenas walked to score a run.  Simon Muzziotti reached on a fielders choice to score another run.


At Bat : 9 R, 11 H, 4 BB, 12 K’s


Ruben Cardenas had a great debut for the IronPigs - he had three hits (double & 2 HR’s - 6 RBIs).  Trevor Schwecke had three hits (singles).  Jim Haley hit a two run home run.

Tyler Phillips pitched seven innings - 3 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 9 K’s - 94 pitches - 56 strikes.  Frederic Tarnok pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - 11 pitches - 5 strikes.  Taylor Lehman pitched a perfect inning - 2 K’s - 11 pitches - 8 strikes.

Scott Kingery posted his fourth multi-homer game of the season on Tuesday. He leap-frogged David Dahl for the team lead now with 13 and he has now hit double digit homers in back-to-back seasons for the first time in his career. The four multi-HR games is now a career high, surpassing the three such games back in 2017 when he hit a career high 26 homers across Double-A and Triple-A. Over his past 22 games, Kingery has eight homers and has posted a .991 OPS. - Media Notes

Summary :


Marcus Lee Sang singled in the first inning and scored on a home run by Carlos De La Cruz.


Casey Martin singled in the second inning and scored on a double by Marcus Lee Sang.


Marcus Lee Sang singled in the 5th inning and scored on a double by Carlos De La Cruz.


Kendall Simmons walked in the 6th inning, Robert Moore singled.  Bryce Ball doubled to score Simmons.  Moore scored on a sacrifice fly by Casey Martin.  Marcus Lee Sang singled to score Ball.


On The Hill : 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 6 K’s


Robinson Pina pitched a complete game - 7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 6 K’s - 70 pitches - 53 strikes.

Marcus Lee Sang (three singles & double - two runs, two RBIs) had four hits.  Carlos De La Cruz (single, double & HR - 3 RBIs) had three hits.  Carson Taylor and Bryce Ball doubled.

Summary :


A walk and double scored a run for Harrisburg in the first inning.  Dérmis Garcia hit a two run home run.


Bryce Ball singled in the second inning and scored after three consecutive walks were issued.


A double, single, hit batter, walk and sacrifice fly scored two runs for Harrisburg in the fifth inning.


Casey Martin homered in the 6th inning.


Arturo De Freitas homered in the 7th inning.

Efrain Contreras pitched 4 innings - 5 R, 6 H, 2 BB, 4 K’s - 64 pitches - 40 strikes.  Zach Haake pitched a perfect inning - 2 K’s - 11 pitches - 8 strikes. The Fightin Phils welcomed 8,805 fans last night to America’s Classic Ballpark. That set a new season high, surpassing Opening Night, April 9, mark of 8,510. It is the largest crowd since May 27, 2023, against Harrisburg, when 8,959 fans came to FirstEnergy Stadium for Harry Potter Night. Currently, the Fightin Phils have the second-highest average attendance in the Eastern League at 5,969 fans per game, trailing on Richmond. Reading currently has the third-highest total attendance in the league at 149,233, which trails just Richmond and Portland. Reading is currently on pace to welcome 393,954 fans this season, which would

surpass last seasons total of 385,478.

Termarr Johnson homered for Greensboro in the first inning.


Josiah Sightler homered for Greensboro in the second inning.


Josiah Sightler hit a two run home run for Greensboro in the third inning.


Joshua Palacios homered for Greensboro in the seventh inning.


William Bergolla homered in the 8th inning. (His 1st professional HR) - Erick Brito singled, Troy Schreffler doubled.  Justin Crawford doubled to score two runs.  Hendry Mendez walked, Andrick Nava singled to score a run.


Luke Brown homered for Greensboro in the eighth inning.


William Bergolla and Erick Brito walked in the 9th inning, Troy Schreffler reached on an error. Justin Crawford singled to score a run.  Otto Kemp singled to score a run.  Leandro Pineda singled to score a run.  Hendry Mendez walked. Andrick Nava walked to score a run.


Note : Greensboro ran out of pitchers and used an outfielder to finish the last inning. They used five hurlers in the game before that.

In yesterday’s game Ethan Chenault earned his first career save. Keaton Anthony had three RBIs in a game for the third time this season. A walk and two singles score a Blue Jays run in the first inning.


Manolfi Jimenez singled in the third inning, he advanced to third when Starlyn Cabareached on a fielding error.  Jimenez scored on a single by Aroon Escobar.


Starlyn Caba and Aroon Escobar walked in the 5th inning - Caba scored on a single by Rickardo Perez.


A walk, single and passed ball scored a run for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the 5th inning.


Jorge Mendez singled in the 6th inning, Nolan Beltran and Ezra Farmer walked to load the bases.  Mendez scored on a groundout by Starlyn Caba.


On The Hill : 2 R, 8 H, 5 BB, 9 K’s


Maxwell Hernandez pitched four innings - 1 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s.  Kleyderve Andrade pitched two innings - 1 unearned R, 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K’s.  Luis Avila finished - 1 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - pitched in and out of a one out bases loaded jam - got a 5-3 double play to end the game!

Jalvin Arias singled for Red in the bottom of the second, he moved to second base on a passed ball.   Cesar Mujica reached on a throwing error.  Meylin De Leon singled to score Arias. Leny Carela tripled to score two more.


Two walks and two wild pitches scored a run for Red in the 5th inning.


Meylin De Leon walked in the 6th, advanced on a single by Yadimir Fuentes, advanced  on a wild pitch and scored on a subsequent groundout. Leny Carela singled to score a run.


On The Hill :


Red: 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s


Alexander De Los Santos pitched four innings - 0 R, 0 H, 1 HB, 0 BB, 4 K’s.  Joshue De La Cruz pitched scoreless three innings - 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K.

Went to the complex this morning to watch rehabbing  RHP Dominic Pipkin throw an up-down bullpen session on Roberts Field totaling about 30 pitches.  Fastball was popping - good to see - I always root for the fellas working their way back.
