International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 4 (11-5,45-44) Buffalo 2 (4-12,41-49)

Summary :


Buddy Kennedy homered in the third inning.


A single, walk, single and ground out scored a run for Buffalo in the fifth inning.


Jim Haley walked in the sixth inning,  Aramis Garcia singled.  Kody Clemens singled to score Haley.  Buddy Kennedy walked. Darick Hall walked to force in a run.


Jim Haley walked in the 8th inning, stole second, went to third on a ground out and scored on a sacrifice fly by Kody Clemens.


Damiano Palmegiani homered for Buffalo in the ninth inning.


At Bat : 4 R, 10 H, 5 BB, 8 K’s


Darick Hall and Cal Stevenson each had two hits (singles). Carlos De La Cruz doubled.  Buddy Kennedy homered.


On The Hill : 2 R, 8 H, 5 BB, 9 K’s


David Parkinson was very good - 6 IP, 1 R, 6 H, 4 BB, 4 K’s - 87 pitches - 50 strikes.  Zach Haake pitched two innings - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 42 pitches - 28 strikes.  Tyler Gilbert closed - 1 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 13 pitches - 9 strikes.

Although his 11-game hitting streak is done, Cal Stevenson has been fantasic going on nearly a month. Since June 9, he's slashed .386/.456/.580 with nine doubles, a triple, and two homers, driving in 13, scoring 20 times, and swiping nine bases. Stevenson smoked his first leadoff homer of the season last Saturday against SWB. Counting tonight he’s posted a multi-hit game in five straight. - Media Notes

Summary :


Akron scored a first inning run on a single (fly ball misread by CF’er Cade Fergus) and double.


A throwing error (third baseman Kendall Simmons), strikeout/wild pitch, walk, single and fielding error (CF Cade Fergus) scored three Akron runs in the second inning.


A double, two walks and a ground out scored a run for Akron in the seventh inning.


Carson Taylor singled in the bottom of the seventh,he scored on a Kendall Simmons home run.


A walk, three singles and a wild pitch scored three runs for Akron in the 8th inning.


Robert Moore singled in the 8th inning, went to third on a single by Otto Kemp and scored on a sacrifice fly by Josh Breaux.

Injury Note :


Catcher Andrick Nava had to be helped off the field in the 8th inning after an apparent knee injury on a wild pitch.

A single, walk, double, single, double and single scored five runs for HV in the first inning.   Two walks and a single scored a run for HV in the fifth inning.


Leandro Pineda walked in the fifth inning and scored on a double by Jordan Dissin.

Estibenzon Jimenez pitched 3.2 innings - 5 R, 6 H, 3 BB, 2 K’s - 84 pitches - 52 strikes.  Benyony Robles pitched 2.1 innings - 1 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 50 pitches - 33 strikes.  Trey Dillard pitched two perfect innings - 3 K’s - 19 pitches - 12 strikes.  Mason Ronan pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 18 pitches - 12 strikes.

Keaton Anthony, who signed out of the University of Iowa last year, had the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning on Thursday night.  He enters today on a nine game hitting streak (14-31) and is 16-37 (four doubles, nine RBIs) with the BlueClaws, with five mutli-hit games including a three-hit game on June 28th, since arriving on June 25th from Clearwater.  He drove in four runs in the win on July 10th against Hudson Valley…He was hitting .322 in 44 games with Clearwater, adding four home runs and 21 RBIs, and drew 28 walks in 186 plate appearances while striking out only 28 times. At the time of his promotion, led the Florida State League in OBP (.446) and OPS (.916) while third in SLG (.470) and fourth in BA (.322)…He signed as an NDFA from the University of Iowa in 2023 after three years with the Hawkeyes. - Media Notes

Summary :


Juan Villavicencio walked in the second inning.  Junior Marin singled sending Villavicencio to third base.  Jerffson Peña grounded out to score Villavicencio.


Nolan Beltran singled in the third inning, Starlyn Caba walked.  A passed ball moved them both up a base.  Gabriel Rincones Jr hit a sacrifice fly to score a run.  Caba stole second base (34th of season) and scored on a single by Eduardo Tait.


The Blue Jays scored twice in the fifth inning on three walks, a single and balk.


Junior Marin singled in the seventh inning and advanced to third on a double by Jerffson Peña.  Marin scored on a passed ball. Starlyn Caba doubled to score Peña.


A triple and single scored a run for the Blue Jays in the eighth inning.


On The Hill :  3 R, 4 H, 6 BB, 8 K’s


Christian McGowan started (his second rehab appearance) and pitched two innings - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s.  Alex Garbrick (first rehab appearance) pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s.  Maxwell Hernandez pitched four innings - 2 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 2 K’s  Adilson Peralta finished - 2 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s

Summary :


Miami scored a first inning run on a walk, throwing error on a pickoff attempt and double.


Samuel Estevez singled in the second inning, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Esterling Rodriguez.


A double, two walks and a balk scored a run for Miami in the bottom of the second.


A walk, stolen base, single, throwing error and double steal scored two runs for Miami in the fourth inning.


On The Hill :  4 R, 5 H, 13 BB, 9 K’s


Alexander De Los Santos pitched 1.2 innings - 2 R, 2 H, 5 BB, 3 K’s.  Naiker Velasquez pitched 2.1 innings - 2 R, 1 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s.  Henry Ramirez pitched two scoreless frames - 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s.  Gregory Lebron pitched a scoreless inning - 1 H, 3 BB, 0 K’s and Rene Yrish pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s.

Summary :


The Angels scored twice in the second on a single, walk and triple.


Yhoan Escalona walked in the third inning, Cristobal Bena and Jose Familia singled.  Jaeden Calderon grounded out to score a run.


The Angels scored two in the 5th on a single, triple and sacrifice fly.  They added two more in the sixth on a walk, hit batter, sacrifice bunt and single plus scored single runs in the 8th (three singles & sac fly) and ninth (walk and two singles).


A walk, wild pitch and fielding error scored a Phillies run in the bottom of the ninth.


On The Hill : 8 R, 15 H, 6 BB, 5 K’s


Eduardo Robles pitched five innings - 4 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s.  Edwin Castillo went 2/3 of an inning - 2 R, 1 H, 3 BB, 0 K’s.  Cristian Diaz pitched 1.1 innings - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s.  John Sosa went 1.2 innings - 2 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s. Juan Duarte retired the only batter he faced on a ground out.
