Marlins 5 Phillies 2
The Marlins scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning as Francisco Cervelli singled, went to third on a single by Miguel Rojas and scored on a sac fly by Jonathan Villar.
Didi Gregorius tied the game in the bottom of the 5th inning with a leadoff home run into the right field seats 👍💪.
Jesus Aguilar hit a two run home run for Miami in the sixth inning scoring Miguel Rojas ( walked ) in front of him.
Aaron Nola went 5 1/3 innings ... he left with a runner on second base ( Corey Dickerson doubled ) ... 4 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 7 K’s ... 79 pitches - 57 strikes
Ramon Rosso battled some nerves in relief of Nola ... he walked the first batter he faced and then spiked a couple wild pitches allowing Dickerson to score. Garrett Cooper then doubled to left center field to score another run.
Reggie McClain relieved Rosso ( 1/3 IP , 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K ... 19 pitches - 10 strikes ) to finish the top of the sixth inning ... Marlins up 5-1
McClain got the first two outs of the seventh inning ... he retired all three batters he faced ... Austin Davis recorded the final out of the inning.
Sandy Alcantara went 6 2/3 innings for Miami ... he was excellent ... 2 R - 1 Earned, 3 H, 2 BB, 7 K’s - 87 pitches - 56 strikes
Marlins center fielder Jonathan Villar dropped a fly ball to center field hit by Jay Bruce for a two base error that allowed Gregorius ( walked ) to score ... 5-2 after seven.
Davis got two outs in the 8th inning but left with two runners on as he also was tagged for two singles ... he went 1 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s ... Trevor Kelley recorded the final out of the inning and stranded the two inherited runners.
Kelley pitched the 9th inning allowing a walk and a hit but no runs ... he went 1 1/3 scoreless.
