Tyler Phillips, who pitched for Reading in 2021 and ‘23, earned his first Major League call-up on Friday. Phillips is the third former R-Phil to receive a big-league promotion in 2024, joining former teammate Oliver Dunn (2023) with the Brewers, and Erik Miller (2022) with the Giants. Phillies is one-of-eight Reading alums on the Phillies active roster currently. He is the third member of the 2023 team to be on the Phillies roster, joining Johan Rojas and Orion Kerkering. Phillips grew up in South Jersey, a huge Phillies fan, and attended Bishop Eustace High School, the same as Zac Gallen. The Rangers drafted him in 2015 and he was DFA’d and claimed by the Phillies in 2021. Emaarion Boyd hit a long long home run to left field well beyond the Chick Fill A zone for a three run tater and free Chick Fill A sandwiches for those at the ballpark! Tremendous bat speed - crushed it.
Wilmington scored two runs in the 3rd inning on a single and two doubles.
Hendry Mendez hit his first home run of the season in the third inning.
Two doubles scored a run for Wilmington in the fourth.

The game was called after five innings due to a serious injury to Dunedin’s right fielder Yeuni Munoz who slid into second base and didn’t get up, he was taken off the field on a stretcher. Please keep positive thoughts in his regard.

Summary :
A single, double steal and two fielding errors scored a run for the Yankees in the first inning.
Gabriel Rincones Jr walked in the third inning, advanced to third base on a single by Alirio Ferrebus and scored on a sacrifice fly by Rickardo Perez.
Junior Marin doubled in the fourth inning, went to third base on a fly out to center field and then scored on a wild pitch.
The Yankees scored a run in the 5th inning on two walks and two wild pitches.
The game went into extra innings. In the bottom of the eighth Juan Villavicencio singled to score placed runner Alirio Ferrebus with the game winning walk off run!

Jerffson Pena and Junior Marin each had two hits. Marin doubled.
Starlyn Caba singled and had two walks and swiped his 32nd base of the season. He had a learning moment in the bottom of the seventh as a runner on second when with one out a hard liner was hit to left field, he misread the play and broke for third, when the left fielder caught the ball he doubled Starlyn off of second. Skipper Shawn Williams went over the play with him. Gotta love Starlyn’s energy - he was the first to run out on the field and congratulate Juan Villavicencio after his game winning hit.
Gabriel Rincones Jr went 0 for 2 with a walk and run scored as the DH.
Other Notes :
Former Phillies minor league RHP Luis Pacheco pitched in the game for the Yankees. He was pitching in Mexico and was signed by the Yankees on 6/11/24. Luis was with the Phillies from 2016 to 2021, he’s now 25 years old.

Summary :
Starlyn Caba singled in the first inning, stole second and went to third on a ground out. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Eduardo Tait.
The Yankees scored three in the bottom of the first inning on a single, walk, double and two throwing errors (SS Starlyn Caba and P Maxwell Hernandez).
Nolan Beltran and Manolfi Jimenez were hit by pitches in the second inning, Ezra Farmer walked. A ground out by Yemil Rosario scored a run. A single by Starlyn Caba walked. A single by Alirio Ferrebus scored two runs. Eduardo Tait doubled to score a run.

Yemil Rosario singled in the 4th inning, advanced to second on a ground out and stole third base. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Alirio Ferrebus.

Samuel Estevez singled for Team Red in the 3rd inning, stole second and scored on a single by Esterling Rodriguez.
Jose Marchan walked for Team White in the bottom of the third and scored on a double by Victor Cardoza. A wild pitch later scored Cardoza. Francisco Loreto singled in the 4th, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a fielding error.
