Other Notes :
The FCL regular season concludes this year on 7/25/24, in years past the league played into August and was a forum for newly signed draft picks to make their pro debuts. In order to provide a continuing training platform this season for those players selected to participate the five Tampa area clubs (Phillies, Pirates, Blue Jays, Yankees and Tigers) have formed what they are calling a “Florida Bridge League” and will play training games between 7/29/24 and 9/6/24. The training league is not part of the FCL or it’s season. It will operate independently and similarly to the Spring Training/Extended Spring Training exhibition seasons. To me it’s akin to the old Fall Instructs platform when teams used to play one another but is a month earlier than Instructs would occur.
The Phillies will play the following schedule - dates subject to change, game times are noon unless otherwise noted :
7/29 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Yankees
7/30 - @ Lakeland vs Tigers
8/2 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Pirates
8/6 - @ Lakeland vs Tigers
8/8 - @ Bradenton vs Pirates - 6:30 PM
8/9 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Tigers
8/13 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Pirates
8/16 - @ Dunedin vs Blue Jays
8/20 - @ Lakeland vs Tigers
8/22 - @ Bradenton vs Pirates
8/23 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Tigers
8/27 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Pirates
8/30 - @ Carpenter Complex vs Blue Jays
9/3 - @ Bradenton vs Pirates
9/5 - @ Bradenton vs Pirates
