International League ( AAA ) - Worcester 10 (23-21, 58-61) Lehigh Valley 8 (22-21, 56-60)

Summary :


Worcester scored four runs in the second inning inning on two walks, two singles and a double.


Ryan McKenna reached on a throwing error by the third baseman in the third inning.  Jim Haley walked and Kody Clemens singled to load the bases.  Darick Hall doubled to score two runs.  Buddy Kennedy hit a sacrifice fly to score a run.


Rafael Marchan, Matt Kroon and Ryan McKenna walked in the sixth inning.  Jim Haleywalked to score Marchan.  Kody Clemens singled to score two runs. Scott Kingerysingled to score a run.


Two walks, a hit batter and a single, double and triple scored five  runs for Worcester in the seventh inning.


Matt Kroon homered in the ninth inning.


At Bat : 8 R, 10 H, 6 BB, 8 K’s


Kody Clemens (three singles, two RBIs and a run scored) and Scott Kingery (three singles, RBI) each had three  hits.  Darick Hall doubled and had two RBIs.  Matt Kroon homered.  Jim Haley walked twice, scored two runs and had an RBI.


On The Hill :  10 R, 11 H, 6 BB, 8 K’s


Kolby Allard pitched four innings - 5 R, 7 H, 3 BB, 4 K’s - 79 pitches - 48 strikes.  Alan Rangel pitched a perfect inning - 1 K - 12 pitches - 8 strikes.   Dylan Covey pitched a perfect inning - 1 K - 16 pitches - 11  strikes.  Zach Haake pitched 2/3 of an inning - 4 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 HB, 1 K - 34 pitches - 16 strikes.  Nick Nelson allowed three inherited runners to score - 1.1 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K’s - 32 pitches - 19 strikes.

Summary :


RJ Schreck homered for NH in the first inning.


Carson Taylor homered in the second inning.


A single and triple scored a run for NH in the third inning.


Otto Kemp doubled in the fourth inning and scored on a double by Caleb Ricketts.  Cade Fergus doubled to score Ricketts.


Trevor Schwecke singled in the eighth inning, advanced to second on a wild pitch, to third on a single by Marcus Lee Sang and scored on a throwing error.


On The Hill : 2 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 14 K’s


Eiberson Castellano was very good - 6 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 1 HB, 1 BB, 10 K’s -  96 pitches - 66 strikes. Nelson Alvarez pitched two scoreless innings - 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s -  23 pitches - 16 strikes.   Tommy McCollum closed - 1 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s -  13 pitches - 10 strikes.


At Bat : 4 R, 11 H, 2 BB, 8 K’s


Otto Kemp hit two doubles.  Cade Fergus and Marcus Lee Sang hit a single and double.  Trevor Schwecke hit two singles.

Caleb Ricketts doubled.  Carson Taylor homered.

The Fightin Phils hit three-straight home runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in Saturday night’s game against the Fisher Cats. Gabriel Rincones Jr. (10) launched a solo shot, then Otto Kemp (10) homered and Trevor Schwecke (5) followed with a blast to left. It was the first time Reading homered in three straight at bats since June 7, 2016 at Akron. It was done by Jorge Alfaro, Dylan Cozens and Rhys Hoskins. Reading also homered for three times in an inning for the third time this season, with all of those instances coming after the All-Star Break. - Media Notes

Hendry Mendez singled in the first inning, he scored on a home run by Keaton Anthony.


Hendry Mendez and Keaton Anthony singled in the fifth inning.  Felix Reyes singled to score Mendez.


Troy Schreffler homered in the sixth inning.

Braydon Tucker pitched six innings - 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 76 pitches - 54 strikes.  Gunner Mayer pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - 21 pitches - 12 strikes.   Alex Garbrick pitched an inning - 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 19 pitches - 13 strikes.  Ethan Chenault finished with a perfect inning - 2 K’s.


At Bat : 4 R, 8 H, 0 BB, 11 K’s


Hendry Mendez had two hits (singles) and scored twice.  Keaton Anthony had two hits (single & HR) with two RBIs.  Troy Schreffler homered.

Bryson Ware went 3-3 on Saturday after picking up two hits on Thursday and Friday – he is now 7-9 in the last three games and 8-12 in the series with Winston-Salem.  He had the game-winning RBI single in the seventh inning on Thursday. Ware is now 10-29 since joining Jersey Shore last week. Ware has started games at 1B, 2B, 3B, and SS with Jersey Shore. With Clearwater, he started games at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, and CF. Summary :


A hit batter and double scored a run for Tampa in the first inning.   A walk, three singles and a wild pitch scored two runs.


Kodey Shojinaga was hit by a pitch in the 5th inning.  Avery Owusu-Asiedu walked.  A wild pitch moved them up.  Dante Nori walked.  Joel Dragoo doubled to score two runs.  Eduardo Tait doubled to score two runs.


Two singles, a walk, sacrifice bunt, double, walk and sacrifice fly scored four runs for Tampa in the seventh.


Carson DeMartini singled in the seventh inning, he scored on a triple by Kehden Hettiger.  Hettiger scored on a wild pitch. Brady Day doubled, Kodey Shojinaga walked.  Day scored on a single by Raider TelloAvery Owusu-Asiedu was hit by a pitch. Dante Nori walked, Shojinaga scored.  Joel Dragoo singled to scored two runs.  Eduardo Taitsingled to score a run.


Kehden Hettiger homered in the 8th inning.


Tampa scored twice in the ninth on three singles and a double.

Pedro Reyes pitched four innings - 3 R, 5 H, 1 HB, 4 BB, 5 K’s - 87 pitches - 51 strikes.  Drew Garrett pitched two innings - 0 R, 0 H, 1 HB, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 34 pitches - 19 strikes.  Jonh Henriquez pitched an inning - 4 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 0 K’s - 26 pitches - 16 strikes. Jose Pena Jr pitched 1.1 innings - 2 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 22 pitches - 18 strikes.  Luis Avila pitched 2/3 of an inning retiring both batters he faced and stranding two inherited runners - 7 pitches - 5 strikes.

Kehden Hettiger had three hits (double, triple and HR), scored twice and had two RBIs.  Brady Day had three hits (two singles & double). Joel Dragoo had two hits (single & double) and four RBIs.  Eduardo Tait had two hits (single & double) and three RBIs.
