International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 14 (20-11,54-50) Jacksonville 5 (15-15, 50-55)

Summary :


Cal Stevenson walked to lead off the game, Scott Kingery doubled.  Stevenson scored on a ground out by Darick Hall.  A wild pitch scored Kingery.  Rafael Marchan walked and Kody Clemens singled.  Rodolfo Castro doubled to score Marchan, Clemens was thrown out at home - Castro went to third and later scored on a wild pitch.


Matt Kroon homered in the second inning.


Rodolfo Castro was hit by a pitch in the third inning.  Jim Haley and Cody Roberts singled.  Matt Kroon hit a sacrifice fly to score a run. Scott Kingery and Darick Hall walked to score a run.  Rafael Marchan singled to score a run. Kody Clemens singled to score a run, another scored on a throwing error by Jacksonville’s first baseman.


Four singles, a double and triple scored five Jacksonville runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.


Matt Kroon homered (2nd in game) in the seventh inning.  Cal Stevenson singled, Scott Kingery hit his 22nd home run of the season scoring Stevenson ahead of him.


Kody Clemens homered in the ninth inning.


At Bat : 14 R, 19 H, 5 BB, 12 K’s


Kody Clemens had four hits ( three singles & HR). Cal Stevenson had three hits (two singles & double).  Rafael Marchan had three hits (singles). Matt Kroon homered twice and had three RBIs.  Scott Kingery (double & HR, two RBIs, walk) Rodolfo Castro (single & double) and Jim Haley (two singles) each had two hits.

David Buchanan pitched four innings - 5 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 83 pitches - 57 strikes.  Andrew Bellatti pitched a perfect inning - 1 K - 12 pitches - 7 strikes.   Griff McGarry struck out the side in a perfect inning - 14 pitches - 13 strikes.  Zach Haake pitched two innings - 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 33 pitches - 22 strikes.  Max Lazar pitched an inning - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 15 pitches - 11 strikes.

Tyler Gilbert's six out save on Thursday night was his second save of at least five outs in the past two weeks. He's gone multiple innings his past three outings as well. Since June 12, Gilbert has thrown 19 innings and allowed just two earned runs (0.95 ERA), striking out 28 while walking only one. He didn't allow a hit over 7.1 innings (seven outings) from June 25 to July 11 which was in the midst of an 11.1 scoreless innigns streak during which he allowed just three hits and a walk, striking out 18. - Media Notes

Summary :


Marcus Lee Sang homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning.


Two singles, a fly out, throwing error and ground out scored a run for Hartford in the second inning.


Caleb Ricketts homered in the third inning.


A walk, stolen base, fielders choice and throwing error by shortstop Robert Moore scored a run for Hartford in the seventh inning.


Caleb Ricketts was hit by a pitch in the 8th inning, Carson Taylor walked. Ricketts moved to third on a fielder’s choice ground out on which Leandro Pineda reached first base.   Kendall Simmons singled to score Ricketts.  Ethan Wilson hit a three run home run!  Erick Brito singled, Cade Fergus walked.  Marcus Lee Sang singled to score a run.  Cade Fergus stole third base, a throwing error by the catcher scored Fergus.


On The Hill :  2 R, 6 H, 3 BB, 6 K’s


Robinson Pina pitched 6.2 innings - 2 R - 1 earned, 5 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 89 pitches - 60 strikes.  Andrew Walling pitched 1.1 innings - 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - 21 pitches - 13 strikes.  Andrew Baker pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 19 pitches - 11 strikes.


At Bat : 8 R, 9 H, 5 BB, 4 K’s


Ethan Wilson had two hits (double & HR, 3 RBIs). Marcus Lee Sang had two hits (single & HR - 2 RBIs).  Leandro Pineda doubled. Caleb Ricketts homered.  Carson Taylor walked three times.


South Atlantic League ( High A )  - Hudson Valley 6 (17-16, 50-48) Jersey Shore 1 (16-18, 54-46) - seven innings

Summary : rain delayed start - began at 9 PM - switched to seven inning game.


HV scored a run in the second on a fielding error, walk and single.  Kiko Romero homered for them in the fourth inning.


Aidan Miller doubled in the 5th inning, Hendry Mendez walked.  Keaton Anthony singled to score Miller.


HV scored five runs in the 6th inning on two singles, a walk, two wild pitches, double, passed ball and fielding error.


On The Hill : 7 R, 6 H, 2 BB, 4 K’s


Mitch Neunborn pitched five innings - 2 R - 1 earned, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 56 pitches - 35 strikes.  Trey Dillard pitched 1/3 of an inning - 3 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 19 pitches - 9 strikes.  Benyony Robles pitched to three batters, he did not record an out - 2 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s - 13 pitches - 8 strikes - 1 inherited runner scored.  Danny Wilkinson pitched 2/3 of an inning - he retired both batters he faced - 1 K - 5 pitches - 4 strikes - 1 inherited runner stranded.


At Bat : 1 R, 7 H, 1 BB, 10 K’s


Zach Arnold had two hits (single & double).  Keaton Anthony had two hits (singles).  Aidan Miller doubled.

Coming into tonight Hendry Mendez had hit safely in five straight games, over which he was 9-21. He was 26-71 since July 1st

and had two hits on Wednesday and three on Thursday at Hudson Valley. He hit his first BlueClaws home run on July

6th. He had a four-hit game on July 4th, his first four-hit game of the year while driving in four of the BlueClaws 15 runs.  He has six multi-hit games in the current stretch (he had one between May 30th and July 2nd). The 20 year old came to the Phillies with Reading IF Robert Moore for Brewers IF Oliver Dunn in November. - Media Notes

Summary :


Devin Saltiban homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning.  John Spikerman doubled down the left field line in his first pro AB.  Eduardo Tait absolutely crushed a long home run to right field that cleared the stadium to score Spikerman ahead of himself.  Carter Mathison hit a line drive up the middle for a single in his first pro AB.  The game then went into weather delay as lightning was spotted.


The game was suspended at 9 PM after a lengthy wait.


On The Hill :


Danyony Pulido started and pitched a perfect first inning - 1 K -  14 pitches - 11 strikes.


At Bat :


Devin Saltiban and Eduardo Tait homered.  John Spikerman doubled.


Defensive Gem :


Third baseman Carson DeMartini made a bare-handed grab of a slow roller and one motion throw to first base to record the second out in the first inning!

Devin Saltiban hit the first inside-the-park home run since Bryan Rincon and Ricardo Rosario each hit one last season. He is now tied for the team lead with 12 home runs. Starlyn Caba recorded his first multi-hit game as a Thresher. Brandon Beckel has thrown 6.0 shutout innings over his last two outings.  Micah Ottenbreit has thrown 6.0 or more innings in three of his 16 starts this season. - Media Notes

Summary :


Colorado scored a run in the 4th inning on two singles and a sacrifice fly.  They scored a run in the 5th inning on a walk, single, stolen base and wild pitch.


Adrian Garcia hit a home run in the 8th inning.  Renair Manrique was hit by a pitch, he was replaced by pinch runner Leny Carela.  Meylin De Leon doubled to score him.


A single, two fielding errors on which runners reached base and a single scored two runs for Colorado in the ninth inning.


On The Hill : 4 R, 6 H, 2 BB, 14 K’s


Brad Pacheco started and pitched three perfect innings - six strikeouts 👀.   Fernando Ramos pitched two innings - 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K.  Zuher Yousuf pitched two innings - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s.  Darling Reyes pitched two innings - 2 unearned runs - 2 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s.


At Bat : 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 8 K’s


Meylin De Leon doubled and Adrian Garcia hit a home run.

Summary :


Jaedon Calderon tripled in the first inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Josueth Quinonez.


The Marlins scored three runs in the 8th inning on two walks, two doubles and a single.

Eduardo Robles pitched five innings - 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 8 K’s.  Emmanuel Nunez pitched a perfect inning - 1 K. Jorge Guzman pitched an inning - 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s.  Cristian Diaz pitched an inning - 1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s.

Jose Familia doubled, Jaedon Calderon tripled. Santiago Prado singled and drew two walks.
