A summary of results and standouts from the past week in the Phillies minor league system.
Lehigh Valley :
The IronPigs went 3-3 hosting Syracuse, they are 62-66 overall and 28-27 in the second half. Kody Clemens went 6 for 16 with 7 runs scored, 3 home runs and 5 RBIs, he also walked 5 times and posted a .524 OBP in 21 plate appearances. David Dahl went 7 for 23 with 4 runs scored, 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. RHP Seth Johnson pitched six scoreless innings in his start - one hit allowed, one walk and five strikeouts. RHP Kyle Tyler pitched four innings, one run allowed on five hits, no walks and five strikeouts. RHP Robinson Pina threw five innings in his start on Sunday allowing one run. Relievers Nick Nelson (3 IP), Griff McGarry (1.2 IP), Zach Haake (2 IP), Tyler Gilbert (2.1 IP) and Dylan Covey (2.1 IP) each made two scoreless appearances. RHP Tyler Phillips and UTL Kody Clemens were promoted to the Phillies on 9/1/24.
Reading :
Reading went 2-4 at Somerset, they are 54-71 overall and 23-34 in the second half. Carson Taylor was 7 for 19 with 6 walks as well (.520 OBP), Josh Breaux was 4 for 11 and Justin Crawford 5 for 17. RHP Moises Chace struck out 13 batters in six scoreless innings on Saturday allowing just one hit and no walks. LHP Braeden Fausnaught pitched six innings in his start allowing two runs on four hits while striking out eight hitters. RHP Noah Skirrow pitched 5.2 innings allowing one run on five hits. RHP Konnor Ash made two scoreless appearances (3.2 IP) as did Nelson Alvarez (2.1 IP).
Jersey Shore :
The BlueClaws went 3-3 hosting Hudson Valley, they are 70-56 overall and 32-28 in the second half. Hendry Mendez went 8 for 17 with a double and triple plus 4 walks - a .571 OBP in 21 plate appearances. Aidan Miller was 8 for 26 with a double, triple and home run, he had five hits in Sunday’s game. Keaton Anthony was 7 for 23 with 4 RBIs. RHP Estibenzon Jimenez made two appearances - six IP, 3 unearned runs. RHP Chuck King made two scoreless appearances (4 IP, 6 K’s) as did Wen Hui Pan (2 IP). RHP Luke Russo and RHP Casey Steward each pitched five scoreless frames in their respective starts, RHP Mitch Neunborn yielded one run on four hits in five innings in his start.
Clearwater :
The Threshers went 3-1 at Fort Myers, they are 61-61 overall and 18-38 in the second half. Dante Nori was 5 for 11 with 5 walks (.625 OBP) in 16 plate appearances. Raider Tello was 4 for 9 with 3 walks in 12 plate appearances (.583 OBP) and Eduardo Tait was 6 for 14 with 4 RBIs. RHP Reese Dutton made his pro debut and pitched three scoreless innings allowing just one hit. LHP Tristan Garnett made two scoreless (2.1 IP) rehab appearances. RHP Sam Highfill pitched three scoreless innings in his first pro start.
Injury Updates (rehab group at the complex) :
Multiple players continue to work towards returning to game action at the complex under the guidance of the rehab team. Side bullpens of individualized length and restrictions (pitch count) were thrown by Marty Gair and Andrew Painter. Live BP sessions were thrown by Lachlan Wells and Saul Teran.
Bridge League Phillies : 3-2-1 (six games played)
Camp broke on Friday - invited players will return mid October for High Performance Camp.
