A walk and double scored a run for Lakeland in the fourth inning.
Carson DeMartini walked in the fifth inning, went to third on a bloop single to center field by Joel Dragoo (great base running read by DeMartini who never broke stride rounding second base) and scored on a sacrifice fly by Carter Mathison.
A fielding error (first baseman Raider Tello), wild pitch, ground out and sacrifice fly scored a run for Lakeland in the bottom of the fifth. Center fielder Dante Nori made a strong throw to the plate but the runner beat it.

Sam Highfil pitched very well in just his second pro start - 4 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 50 pitches - 34 strikes. Reese Dutton also pitched well - 3.2 IP, 1 unearned R, 1 H, 2 BB, 4 K’s - 51 pitches - 31 strikes. Jonh Henriquez retired the only batter he faced - one pitch - ground out.
Defensive Gem :
Catcher Eduardo Tait threw a laser to shortstop Starlyn Caba covering second in the 6th inning - the runner even had a running jump and Tait still nailed him! Big time arm!
