9/15/24 : Minor League Week in Review - 9/10 to 9/15

A summary of results and standouts from the past week in the Phillies minor league system.


 Lehigh Valley :

 

The IronPigs went 2-5 at Scranton Wilkes Barre, they are 65-75 overall and 31-36 in the second half.  Outfielder Ryan McKenna went 8 for 22 with two home runs, six RBIs and six walks (.517 OBP in 29 PA’s).  Outfielder David Dahl was 6 for 19 with four walks (.435 OBP in 23 PA’s). Catcher Rafael Marchan was 4 for 13 and outfielder Carlos De La Cruz 6 for 21.  RHP Tyler Phillips pitched seven innings on Friday allowing two runs on four hits.  RHP Freddy Tarnok (2 IP) made two scoreless appearances posting four strikeouts.


Reading : 

 

Reading went 3-3 at Harrisburg, they finish the season 59-78 overall and 28-41 in the second half.  During the week outfielder Justin Crawford went 7 for 20 with a home run and six RBIs.  Infielder Robert Moore went 6 for 17 and infielder Trent Farquhar was 7 for 18.  LHP Braeden Fausnaught pitched six scoreless innings in his start on Wednesday allowing five hits to finish a very good season on a high note. RHP Mitch Neunborn pitched very well in his final start of the season on Wednesday - six innings, one run and three hits allowed.  RHP Noah Skirrow pitched six scoreless innings on Saturday - three hits, no walks.  LHP Matt Osterberg threw four scoreless frames on Sunday.  Relievers LH Tristan Garnett (2 IP), RH Jack Dallas (3 IP), LH Wesley Moore (2 IP) and RH Andrew Schultz (2 IP) each made two scoreless appearances.


Clearwater :

 

The Threshers went 0-2 in their best of three semi-finals playoff series with Lakeland.  In game one RHP Sam Highfil pitched very well in just his second pro start - four innings, one run on two hits.  RHP Reese Dutton also pitched well in relief - 3.2 innings - one unearned run and one hit allowed.  RHP Danyony Pulido was strong in game two as the starter - he pitched 4.1 scoreless innings allowing just one hit.  RHP Jonh Henriquez pitched in both games and retired all three batters he faced to close out two rally innings stranding three inherited base runners.


 Injury Updates (rehab group at the complex) :

 

Multiple players continue to work towards returning to game action at the complex under the guidance of the rehab team.  Side bullpens of individualized length and restrictions (pitch count) were thrown by Marty Gair, Chase Hopewell and Alex McFarlane.  Live BP sessions were thrown by Andrew Painter and Spencer Turnbull.

Fall Instructs Camp continues at the Dominican Academy - 53 players are participating.
