Pitching on August 30th against the Syracuse Mets, Johnson spun six innings of shutout baseball, earning the victory (his second in a row). Johnson struck out five and allowed only two base runners : a double and a walk. He retired the first five hitters of the ballgame before allowing the double and walk consecutively in the second inning. Following the base on balls, Johnson proceeded to mow down the ensuing 13 batters in a row to cap his outing. Johnson was acquired by the Philadelphia Phillies from the Baltimore Orioles on July 30, 2024, along with RHP Moises Chace (who was named the Eastern League’s Pitcher of the Week for the past week as well) for LHP Gregory Soto. - Media Notes

Eastern League Honors : Moises Chace was nothing short of dominant in his third Double-A start on Saturday, which led to his selection as Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on Monday. In total, Chace retired 18-of-19 hitters and the final 16 he faced. 13 of his 18 outs were via a strikeout (72%). He collected 19 swing and missed on the night, with 13 of those coming against his fastball. Since his Double-A debut (August 17), Chace leads the Eastern League with 29 strikeouts. - Media Notes

Bennett is the first MiLB player to be intentionally walked with the bases loaded since at least 2005. Since 1969, the following MLB players have been intentionally walked with the bases loaded: Barry Bonds (with SF vs AZ in 1998), Josh Hamilton (with TEX vs TAM in 2008), and Corey Seager (with TEX vs LAA in 2022). Mexican League player Abel Martinez was also intentionally walked with the bases loaded in 2005 for Laguna vs Tiajuana. - Media Notes
