LHP Jo Jo Romero
Phillies #13 prospect according to MLB.com … 23 years old … 2016 4th round selection out of Yavapai College
Jo Jo had an outstanding 2017 season between Lakewood and Clearwater which had folks envisioning a quick climb to the big leagues. He’s got multiple pitches yet always is in search of improvements or other pitches to add to the repertoire.
When he’s struggled it’s been a lack of command and in recent times control that have been the primary issues, the stuff usually plays ... capable of mid nineties heater with two quality off speed deliveries ( slider & changeup ) and as stated others in the mix.
Projection : When Jo Jo broke camp with Reading in 2018 he struggled, a simplified approach helped him get back on track ... from my observations that’s key, he has good stuff ... with a focus on strengths he could be a viable big league asset ... perhaps the move to the bullpen in the Arizona Fall League where he had success is telling ... multi inning relievers are very valuable in today’s game ... just sayin
